In Hindi, there is 13 swar (vowels) and 36 vyanjan (consonants). Learning Hindi requires persistence and practice. Devanagari is a type of letters in the order called an abugida, as every consonant has an innate vowel (a), that can be changed with the diverse vowel signs.
